A trading arm of Sales Assist, Sports Assist provides skilled administrative and management services in support of sporting events and sports organisations. The director of Sports Assist, John Friend, is a keen follower of many sports and has been an active sailor, up to international level, for many years. Once the years took their toll he turned his attention to helping develop and administrate his chosen sport of sailing, since when he has served as both a volunteer and as a professional in support of sport in general. He is now the Secretary General of the European Sailing Federation.

Through this work John has gained a wide experience of administering and managing sport at both national and international level, including sporting international and national authorities, regional bodies and clubs. He has also been involved with the organisation and management of sporting events, both in the UK and overseas, including several world and continental championships. His ability to pay attention to detail and to get things done to a tight schedule, has proved invaluable when it comes to organising events and organisations.
